Acknowledging A Food Crisis in Haiti~

“Haiti faces worst food insecurity crisis since 2001”
“Twenty-six children died in the mountainside village of Baie D’Orange in a a span of a month from severe malnutrition.”

There are many faces of hunger and starvation in Haiti. They are everywhere you look, from the mountains……to the city dumps of Port-au-Prince and Cap Haitian, to the children being fed Bon Bon Tè (mud cookies) to stave off hunger pangs. Widespread malnutrition throughout the country has pushed this food crisis beyond the breaking point. Hundreds of children are dying every day! Haiti has experienced a food crisis on and off for the last 15 years. The year 2001 was considered one of the worst years. Then in 2008, there was an International Food Crisis which saw food riots in Haiti come to a political crisis.

"Going Hard for God Missionary Trip to Haiti 2017"

Greetings All,
We first want to thank you for your donations towards the missionary trip to Haiti and to also let you know that the trip was a success. Our goal was to take $15,000.00 over with us after we had paid all of the expenses concerning the trip, IE shipping and customs fees. With the large donations from the Schrader Lane CoC in Nashville, Tn, the Residence Park CoC in Dayton, Oh and the monthly contributions by the Mountain View CoC in Dallas, Tx, we were blessed to do just that. We did run into a few hiccups but the faith that was shown and the relationships that were built canceled anything that the devil tried to throw at us. We were the United Front representing God and what He has called us to do and to be: Ambassadors for Christ Jesus.

We were blessed to have a team compliant of saints from all across the country, from various backgrounds and walks of life coming together for the common cause; James 1:27. A quick intro of the team consist of; Bro Bill Davis, Edith Frazier, Autumn Sproul, her daughter Sophie and her niece Yuna (our photographer/video-master), Terri Baskin, Cydney Barnes (our excellent fundraiser person), Lydia Matias (the Jill of all trades), my daughter Angel Murrah and myself Sheryl Murrah~God's Servants.

We were able to help 45+ churches, villages, orphanages, schools, the prisons and other entities. You did that, you helped us to accomplish a mission that was a blessing for approximately 15,000+ people.
Again we thank you for your love, support and for your faithfulness. In God we Trust!
Left to Right; Bro Bill Davis, Yuna, Sophie, Angel, Sheryl, Edith, Terri, Autumn. Front and center; Cydney and Lydia.

UPDATE!
God's people are being cared for. Hallelujah to the Lamb!
Keep praying and donating. We see that what's been donated is actually getting to the people of Haiti and not into the hands of greedy ungodly people. Thank God again for all of you~
Love One Another~ 1 John 3:17
By this we know what love is: Jesus laid down His life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. If anyone with earthly possessions sees his brother in need, but withholds his compassion from him, how can the love of God abide in him?
An 2010 Earthquake and Another devastation by "Hurricane Matthew" made living conditions worst for HAITI. Please continue to support and donate to our Missionary Work in Haiti for people to eat a meal and have clean water to drink. CAP-HAITIEN, Haiti — Eight Christian women on an eight-day mission trip from the U.S. helped distribute 800 pounds of food, 100 pounds of toys, 1,800 pairs of shoes and 2,700 pounds of medical supplies in this Caribbean nation.

Sheryl MurrahAnother number — 20 — was particularly meaningful for team member Sheryl Murrah. That’s how many years Murrah, a member of the Sugar Creek Church of Christ in Charlotte, N.C., has participated in missions in Haiti.

“I didn’t realize that it had been 20 years until Julsain Blanc, a Haitian minister and graduate from the Center for Biblical Training in Galman-du-Platt, reminded me,” Murrah said.

“But the driving force is all about God.”

The women hosted three Ladies’ Day programs. One participant spoke the native language, Creole, as she addressed the Haitian women.

The team visited a prison, a hospital, 19 churches that operate orphanages and schools, the Victory for Haiti Foundation and the Center for Biblical Training, a school that produces ministers for Churches of Christ.

“We would like to thank the Haitian Christian Foundation for allowing us to stay at the center,” Murrah said. “It was a blessing to be in the midst of God-fearing and loving brethren.” Because of donations made to the mission trip, “thousands were able to have a meal for several days,” she added.

In addition to Murrah and her daughter, Angel, team members included Veralisa Hunter, Sierra Woollard, Lydia De Mesa Matias, Terri Baskin, Aleice Allen and Diane Allen.

This picture is or what I should say was where the very first CoC in Northern Haiti, stood for over 30 years. It was called Maison-au-Doracion, Eglise-du-Crist. Translated The House of Adoration/Church of Christ. As you see it's no longer there. The government torn it down because they wanted the land. The church didn't receive a dime for the property or for re-location. The officials didn't ask, they took it.
It's different world. A different life. It's Haiti.

In Haiti, there is one hospital bed for every 10,000 inhabitants. There are only about eight doctors and 10 nurses for every 100,000 inhabitants. The life expectancy for Haiti is low: 50 years for men and 53 years for women.

This is an actual picture that I took in Haiti of a hospital called Azile. The hospital for the undesirables. The administration no longer allow pictures to be taken dues to the condition of the patients as well as how horrific the conditions are.

Good day Saints,
I just need a minute to explain the purpose and need for you to give and support the Kingdom Work in Haiti. I know you are seeing us asking you to support Haiti. It's because according to the scriptures, we don't have, because we don't ask. James 4:2
Although we are asking, it's not benefiting the missionaries. We pay our own expense. By getting sponsors, family involvement, making it happen ourselves, etc.
This is the role we need you to help us with~
Help us with shipping cost, help us with custom fees, help us with feeding the hungry and help us put money in the congregations/ministers hand. And GOD works through your heart and pricks it to help support this much needed work.
Haiti is at our back door. And they are knocking, will you answer?
All contributions are tax deductible.
We accept PaylPay donations~sendmeministry@gmail.com

Haiti Food Security & Nutrition Fact Sheet (2016)
Food insecurity is a long-standing challenge in Haiti. Even before the 2010 earthquake, Haiti suffered from one of the heaviest burdens of hunger and malnutrition in the Western Hemisphere: 40 percent of households were undernourished and 30 percent of children suffered from chronic malnutrition. The earthquake not only aggravated existing difficulties, it lessened the government’s ability to manage the situation. In the six years since the earthquake, Haiti has made progress but still ranks “alarming” in the 2015 Global Hunger Index. For example, the 2012 Demographic and Health Survey showed that, between 2005-2006 and 2012, stunted children under five years of age decreased from 23.8 to 21.9 percent; wasting decreased from 9.1 to 5.1 percent; and underweight children decreased from 22.2 to 11.4 percent. Still, roughly 50 percent of Haiti’s population is undernourished, which has been exacerbated by the longstanding drought and El Niño, leaving 1.5 million Haitians at risk of food insecurity. Haiti cannot achieve economic growth and national stability if food security is not addressed.

“An increasing number of Haitians are at risk of being driven deeper into poverty and hunger as Haiti faces its worst food crisis in 15 years, the United Nations World Food Program said…” (Miami Herald, Feb 2016). Haiti’s children are the most vulnerable. Today, there are 3.8 million children that are under the age of 15, and at this rate, Haiti will lose a whole generation of its people.
