MY REPORT ON HAITI MISSIONARY WORK APRIL 2015 WITH MY 16 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER, ANGEL MURRAH

I first want to thank God almighty for allowing me to work with you all. It couldn't have been done without your participation and cooperation. You get MISSIONARY WORK. Which is a Great thing. That means I am not preaching to the Choir. I am so humbled by all the support and love. From Denise West, Marlo Brooks, Samatha Joseph, Lydia De Mesa Matias, Annie Newton, Cookie Frazier, Debbie Watkins Taylor, Terri Baskin, Roderick Frazier II aka Gaby, Tamera Armstrong, Jonathan Bennett, Angel Murrah, Jeff Murrah, Cordelia Wade, Juanita Moore, Aida Pellon, Suzan Dennis, Ollie Lockwood (my mother), Garry Lockwood, Cydney Moore and Ginessa Jones. Also I am thankful for the entities that helped in our journey:  Dave Dirrim/CHCH, Tim Mastenbrook/HCF, the Admins for the HCF/CHCH, Sam Pounds/minister of the Hill Top CoC, Bobby L. Green/minister of Metropolitan Charleston CoC, Leslie James/minister of the Sugar Creek CoC and MFI/shipping company.

I will be brief. But I will be amiss if I didn't include Richard Rodney and the staff at the Center for Biblical Perfection (Haitian Christian Foundation) in Galman du Plaa, Haiti. Richard is a man after God's own Heart. A servant for his people and for the Lord. He truly blessed us on our stay as well as the Marbles (directors in Haiti) working with the CHCH (an orphanage of the CoC directed by David Dirrim).

This is a list of  the villages, orphanages, schools and CoC that we visited, along with the ministers and if they have schools or orphanages I have listed those. Pictures are includes sharing supplies, food, clothing, smiles and love. Our God blessed us to pack and pass out 800 lbs of food, 400 care packages, 100 lbs of toys, over 100 small girls dresses (thanks Sam Pounds), tons of costume jewelry, shoes, school supplies, approx 200 men ties (thanks Leslie Jame & Garry Lockwood), 600 lbs of clothing for all genders, plenty of medical supplies & more.

On 12 January 2010, Haiti suffered a devastating earthquake, magnitude 7.0 with a death toll estimated by the Haitian government at over 300,000, and by non-Haitian sources from 50,000 to 220,000. Aftershocks followed, including one of magnitude 5.9. The capital city, Port-au-Prince, was effectively leveled. A million Haitians were left homeless, and hundreds of thousands starved. The earthquake caused massive devastation, with most buildings crumbled, including Haiti's presidential palace. The enormous death toll made it necessary to bury the dead in mass graves. Most bodies were unidentified and few pictures were taken, making it impossible for families to identify their loved ones. The spread of disease was a major secondary disaster. Many survivors were treated for injuries in emergency makeshift hospitals, but many more died of gangrene, malnutrition, and infectious diseases.

A Few Interesting Facts about Haiti~
1. 2,500,000 Haitians live in extreme poverty. Haiti is the poorest country in the northern hemisphere.
2. Two Haitians out of three live with less than $2 per day.
3. 10% of the richest Haitians possess 70% of the country's total income.
4. 50% of urban Haitians are unemployed.
5. Although agriculture is an important sector of Haiti’s economy, the country fails to produce enough food and imports more than 50% for its population’s needs. It imports 80% of its main staple: rice.
6. 90% of farmers depend on rain for their harvest as only 10% of the crops are irrigated.
7. 100,000 children under five suffer from acute malnutrition while one child out of three is stunted, or irreversibly short for their age.
8. Less than 50% of households have access to safe water and only 25% benefit from adequate sanitation.
9. One third of Haitian children and women are anemic.
We are raising money to give God the Glory that He so Rightfully deserve. We are planning our 20th year Anniversary of doing Missionary Work in N. Haiti and would like you to be a part of it. Our next trip will be in March of 2016. Our Team consists of sisters of the CoC. Please support the cause and give an offering to help those that are in Haiti to eat a meal, to drink clean/fresh water, to wear clean clothes and to receive the Gospel of Christ. So I ask you to please consider giving not to me but to the cause of helping others. Together we can make a difference.
Proverbs 19:17 Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord and he will reward them for what they have done.
It might be us now, but it can be tomorrow that stand in need of help. Thanks for your donation and if you want to join us in Christ on our next journey to Haiti. Please contact~ Lydia Matis or Sheryl Murrah for more info. Thanks again and be a blessing~
What you see here is the Village of Grande Rivere (Big River). Many of the villagers come here to do laundry, get water to cook with and bathe(not to mention the livestock wash/drink here too). The Haitians lay their clothes on the shores to dry in the Sun. And we think we have it hard with a washer and a dryer. A normal day in Haiti~

In Haiti they don't have private rooms. They have open air hospitals. So if you have typhoid you're in the room with a person that might have leprous or kidney stones or a hernia. Everyone is in the same room. And to go along with all that. The hospital does not feed you, provide clean gowns or provide meds for you. Your family brings in food and meds. Or guess what missionaries bring you food or meds.
Several little girls receiving dresses from the Hilltop CoC~
Minister Samuel L. Pounds congregation donated over 100 dresses to Haiti, April 2015. Let's get creative and use our gifts to help out.
Let us know how you and your congregations can help.
The Bathroom at the Lamoliere CoC. Just a piece of clothe, no privacy or toilet paper. Can you help? Will you Help?

Good Morning all~ This is a pic of the 1st Graduating Class of the CoC College for ministers 1996, located in Galman-du-Plaa (sponsered from the U.S). We are the airport in O'Cap, Haiti. They all came to see me off. Currently they all have congregations and some may be over 2-4 all at once. They are dedicated Preachers providing schools, orphanages, sharing the Word of God and some have taken children in there own homes to care for them. Soldiers of the Cross!
